That’s exactly what Big Mouth Readers is all about: helping kids discover books they genuinely connect with and giving families simple ways to keep the conversation going beyond the last page.

I created this Monthly Book Suggestion Worksheet as an easy, playful way for young readers to share a book they think deserves the spotlight.

Kids can choose a favorite book, think about what made it memorable, and explain why someone else should read it. There are no perfect answers and no book reports here—we simply want kids thinking, sharing, recommending, and getting excited about reading.

How to Use It

Download and print the worksheet, then invite your reader to choose a book they’ve recently enjoyed.

Let them lead the recommendation.

Their pick might be hilarious, adventurous, mysterious, completely ridiculous—or a story they’ve already read seventeen times. If it made them want to keep turning the pages, it counts.

Use their recommendation to inspire your next library visit, family read-aloud, classroom book choice, or book swap with friends.

And next month?

Choose another.

Because the best person to convince a kid that a book is worth reading might just be another kid with a very big mouth. 📚💛
